It’s time for spring joy

I’ll be real: I am a winter person. I love snow and blankets and massive coats. I dread the rising temperatures and grumble as the days get longer. But this is something I want to change. I’m tired of being a spring/summer grouch, and I think it’s time to lean into the light.

Thankfully, this week’s cover feature is helping me on this important journey. Stylist contributor Francesca Brown has done the hard work of digging out 30 brilliant buys that truly deliver on the joy for a bumper pre-Easter edition of the Style List. Scrolling through her picks, I genuinely began to feel excited for the weeks ahead (yes, even with looming hayfever and having to pack away my comfiest jacket).

Have a read for a curated selection of delights to buy for yourself and everyone else in your life, whether as an Easter treat or simply a celebration of the new season. With seasonal cocktails, springtime wardrobe finds, the best chocolate eggs and gorgeous tablescaping to transform long brunches, lunches and warm evenings, this is the only shopping guide you need right now.

This week I’m…

Listening to: everything by Chloe Qisha. I’ve been telling everyone I know that Qisha, who trained to be a therapist before making a dramatic career pivot, is set to be the next big pop act to know. I’ve been listening to 21st Century Girl, Sexy Goodbye and Sex, Drugs & Existential Dread nonstop and have no plans to change that any time soon.

Thinking about: the honey-glazed, herb-loaded bread I ate at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High (the tallest restaurant in Europe). The views alone are worth a visit, but the food is, of course, mind-blowing. I wish I could eat the battered langoustine for every meal.

How can we *actually* improve our resilience?

If you’re prone to an emotional spiral or find yourself knocked off course by relatively minor setbacks, chances are you’ve thought about improving your resilience. The word resilience gets thrown around a lot, with the general consensus being that we need more of it, but definitions can be pretty vague and conversations around the topic usually focus on our ability to recover from life’s challenges, tap into inner strength and move forward with lessons learned.

Sure, that all sounds great, but what does it look like in practical terms? What does resilience feel like in our day-to-day lives and is it something we can just acquire more of? Here, we ask experts in psychology what we can do practically to help us roll with the punches a little more easily and stop small issues in our lives from becoming massive crises.
