Looking for a new immersive foodie experience to add to your London bucket list? Look no further.
Fusing culinary artistry and theatrical charm, the enchanting new Theatre Afternoon Tea at Strand Palace is fast becoming our most lusted-after excuse to indulge in this time-honoured tradition.
Think delectable savoury sandwiches, cakes and cocktails, inspired by the illusion of a ‘play-within-a-play’, seen in iconic plays such as Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Moulin Rouge.
Traditional Afternoon Tea elements are named after theatre tropes such as the Act I’s Stagehands’ Sausage Roll, Hamlet’s Harissa, The Green Room, accompanied by (our personal fave) traditional Showstopper Scones during an intermission of fragrant unlimited tea.
Act II unveils decadent sweet treats like the Tutu Tartlet with white chocolate ganache, raspberry and rose mousse, the Curtain Call of red velvet marscarpone mousseline and the Baritone’s Delight of dark chocolate delice with espresso cream.
Playful, interactive and oh-so Instagrammable, this Afternoon Tea invites you to explore unexpected flavours and is ideal as a pre-theatre treat or simply just a fun thing to do with friends and family.
Available daily from 12pm to 5pm at Haxells at Strand Palace, this experience is priced at £49 per person on weekdays and £55 per person on weekends, with a popular vegan and kids’ menus available.
Time for tea? Don’t mind if we do…
