Not sure what to cook for dinner? These simple midweek meals are here to help

With the weather currently unable to make up its mind, it’s unsurprising that we’re not quite sure where we stand on everything from fashion to food choices at the moment. Between dressing for all four seasons in a single day and having to cancel picnic plans due to sudden downpours, it’s almost impossible to plan ahead and know exactly how we’re going to be feeling on any given day come 6pm – which makes meal times more than a little tricky.

But rather than falling back on trusty delivery apps when your stomach rumbles, we’re sharing three simple recipes from food writer and stylist Rukmini Iyer’s latest book to help you out. In The Green Cookbook, she shares an array of tasty vegetarian and vegan recipes, all of which involve minimal fuss and effort to throw together. From an easy veggie pastry to one-pot orzo and a zingy salad, these dishes will see you through every indecisive weeknight (no matter what the weather is doing).

Fisherman sandals are set to be summer’s It shoe – 9 of the best styles to shop now

Despite grey and drizzly days, we’re firmly ready to step into sandal season. Offering a cooler, less confined option than trainers, boots or ballet pumps, the summer-ready shoe is one of the most practical picks for warmer weather, ridding us of sweaty socks and slippery soles. And with countless styles available, there’s plenty of variety for everyone (and every outfit). But one that seems to be reigning supreme already this season is the fisherman sandal.

Having cemented themselves as a fashion favourite in recent years, they sit somewhere in between a sandal and a brogue-like shoe – and are much more sturdy than slip-on barely-there designs. Plus, without so much barefoot on show, they can also work for more formal environments such as the office, as well as being a better option for those who aren’t keen to display so much foot. Whether you’re looking for a designer option or a more affordable style from the high street, we’ve rounded up the best to shop now. Plus, if the weather takes a turn for the worse, they also look very chic when styled with socks.
