Decorate your friends’ walls this Christmas with these limited-edition prints

Not every designer can count the likes of Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Zadie Smith as fans. But not every designer is Bella Freud. Renowned for her graphic jumpers, her punk-inspired slogans have also adorned everything from ceramics to candles – and this week, she’s launched her first collection of limited-edition artworks. Starting at £100, the popular archive designs including ‘1970’ and ‘Love Is The Drug’ are guaranteed to tick the thoughtful present box for your typography-loving friends. And the daughter of iconic artist Lucian Freud isn’t the only one making artistic gift giving simple this season.

War Child UK’s new Shop For Good charity platform is offering a limited-edition run of Anthony Burrill’s signed ‘Never Give Up’ prints (£100, all profits support children affected by armed conflict), while London-based illustrator Lucy Mahon’s range of pastel giclée prints (from £90) and visual artist Babak Ganjei’s Insta-famous designs (from £75) will bring playfulness to any self-respecting millennial’s gallery wall. Colour fans will love printmaker Jenni Allen’s new abstract geometric ‘Pieces Of Play’ (£120), while we also enjoy Singaporean artist Cassandra Yap’s take on Wizard Of Oz in Print Club London’s new ‘Find The Magic’ Christmas collection (from £35) – but hurry, as there’s only 50 available. Then all that’s left to do is buy the wrapping paper.

Water-conscious products are the next big thing in beauty – 5 brands to know now

Palm oil-free. Vegan. Refillable. Not tested on animals. Just a few of the buzzwords that make our eyes light up when searching for new brands, especially when it comes to beauty. But with your average shampoo containing over 80% water – and 1 in 10 people globally lacking access to safe water, not to mention 50% of the world’s population set to face water shortages by 2025 – it’s time we paid attention to the H2O content of our products, too.

Which is why We Are Concentrate has entered the chat. Launching today, the brand’s concentrated shampoo and conditioner pastes (both £14) replace water with active ingredients for the same results as traditional haircare products – with a blend of aloe vera, coconut, papaya and shea butter that cleanses and nourishes all hair types. Similarly, new brand The Powder Shampoo’s four vegan powder-to-foam shampoos (£24) cut down on water content in both production and usage, with a single bottle lasting up to 100 washes. Sustainable labels like Forgo (from £23) and Ethosa (from £7.90) are also reducing the need to transport water, adopting the same principles with their powder-to-gel body and hand washes, which feature reusable and refillable containers, while Australian brand Conserving Beauty has gone a step further, cutting the use of water completely from its range of face wipes, balms and masks (from £11). Good for you and good for the planet? We’re sold.
